We're finally going South

The day we arrive in Portland, we are ready to leave again. We do not want more snow, we want sunshine. But we also want to spend some time with the Roberts, so we do stay. Longer than we intend however.

Some mechanical work needs to be done to the RV - when you buy a rig like this and take it on the road for the first 1000 kilometers, you will start finding things that may need to be tweaked, tuned or adjusted. We also needed some additional furnishings such as BBQ outdoor carpet etc. and that is not available everywhere. So we spend our day driving to RV dealers and to the Freightliner dealer.
In the evenings we get to spend time with the Roberts and enjoy the opportunity to have Bella read us her stories before she has to go to bed.

Every morning we have snow and frost and by noon the grass is green again.

For our friends in Alberta: We're really sorry that you are in the deep freeze. I better not nag about the lousy weather here any longer.

Kai and Bella have not been to school all week and are having their Christmas break next week. Marcela would love to come along south with us. Hmm, let's see. Do we have room for passengers? Do we have enough bedding, towels, food? What the heck. Why don't you all come along with us and we'll drop you off somewhere in Phoenix after Christmas, perhaps you can hitchhike back to Portland.

Everyone gets busy packing clothes and Ramiro hooks up the car again and off we go, hopefully to a warmer place.

We'll let you know when we have arrived and show you pictures of all of us in shorts.
