ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Friday, December 12
Other than the snow that’s expected later on in the day, the weather forecast for the next four days calls for sun, sun, sun. but................................. accompanied by temperatures of 25 BELOW freezing. We’re out of here.
We too expect to see sun, but hopefully with temperatures of 25 ABOVE freezing.
As we wake up this morning, we feel like little kids going on a trip to the zoo. We are SO ready. The house is clean, the fridge empty and after checking everything one more time, we locked the door behind us and leave the driveway at 9:45 am.

All our Mascottes are travelling with us, the little monitor aides us to see what’s happening behind us. And Ramiro, the excellent drive he is will get us to our destination safely.

We enter Edson just after 12 and need to get some maintenance done to the RV, including one of the newly replaced tires torqued. After an hour we are back on the road heading further west, The snow starts and continues for the next hour; Not exactly ideal driving conditions. Once we enter the mountains it gets serious, and the deeper we get into the British Columbia mountains the worse it gets. We enter a different time zone and by 4:30 pm it is dark. Several big semi truck pass us and blow up a lot of snow making visibility very poor. At Blue River we stop for Diesel and decide to ask permission to park for the night. While Ramiro makes a call to our friends Julio and Pamela in Kamloops - to tell them we won’t be joining them for dinner - I open a bottle of wine and prepare an omelette.

The rest of the evening is spend reading through the numerous manuals to familiar ourselves with the many appliances and other features of the rig. Yes, I know we should have done that long before, but we we too busy, painting and partying.
