I’m the first one up this morning and quickly shower, eat breakfast and walk to the park office to see if I can connect. YES, I am on line. I enter the last few days of my journal on the blog and include the pictures. Something is not quite right; I am not able to see the pictures I enter and can’t move them around. Sorry folks, if they are in the wrong order or do not relate to the text next to it, you will have to use your imagination.
By now everyone else is up and they all want to go on line. Well, in that case, I’ll put my walking shoes on and go for a brisk walk. It’s a beautiful morning and I really enjoy my walk. By the time I return to the RV I see that the dishes have not been done. (I did mine before I left). Well, OK after all I am the Mom and suppose that’s left for me to do. Bella helps me dry and I still have time to wash the floor, clean the bathroom and make Greek Salad for lunch. By 11 am we are finally on the road again, much later than originally planned.
The drive from Lodi (where we parked for the night) until Bakersfield is not interesting at all. Just flat farmland and vineyards for miles and miles. Not worth taking out the camera for. But once we pass Bakersfield and turn east, the scenery starts to get really impressive.
We approach the Tehachapi mountains and are at awe at its beautiful scenery, including the snow.
We hope that this time we can stop before dark, but there is no place to park. California has much stricter rules than other states when it comes to parking along the road or at rest stops.
We pull into the K-Mart parking lot in Tehachapi and shop for some supplies before dinner.
Despite the cool mountain air outside we keep nice and warm inside and make a cozy evening out of it with a nice chicken and tomato sauce over pasta dinner and a bottle of wine, while listening to the Gipsy Kings.
While Marcela bathes Bella, Ramiro and I go out for a walk and return to read in bed before turning in for the night. Ah. life is good.
