We wake up several times from the wind, which, likes an angry wild animal rocks the rig from side to side. (yes, believe me it was the wind). What if we were snowed in? We were almost afraid to look outside. Well, we have enough food for the next two weeks and the bed is very comfy with the warm Down filled quilt. The generator will give us power, without draining the battery, and we can always use the bathroom at the Gas station next door, because we have no water yet. We have a nice hot cup of tea and coffee and some fruit, we attempt to defrost the windows and at 7:30 we’re on our way direction Kamloops which we finally reach at noon.

We find a large parking lot and call the Muzios. We have finally arrived!!! Within minutes they drive up and meet us at at the Lynx Grill, which is only 20 steps away. The visit is short but just long enough to say hello and catch up on the latest over lunch.
If the Kamloops weather is an example of what’s yet to come, we will face one more challenge: We must still cross the high mountain passes at 1244 m. via the Coquihalla. There seems to be snow and that freezing cold arctic wind everywhere we go. What normally takes less than three hours turns into a 5 hour trip, but we make it safely. Others are not quite a lucky.
We see many vehicles in the ditch including a large semi truck, which is being pulled out by two large cranes. Finally we see pavement again, but most importantly, we see the lines that divide the lanes, so at least we know where we are suppose to drive. Ramiro remains pretty calm all this time. Must be the Latin music we have been playing over the last two days. As soon as we have a cell phone connection again, we call our daughter Mandy, who’s already getting worried. They have arranged for us to park at a nearby church and pick us up with the entire family to go for dinner to the Greek Islands Restaurant for a wonderful meal. Back home at the Wiebes, the little ones go to bed and the we stay for a while to enjoy a nice cup of tea with the teens and Mandy and Brian before Brian takes us back to the RV.
