After spending four days in the Manzanillo area, we have concluded that this is not our favorite place to spend the winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love the ocean, the beach, the many restaurants and the relaxed mood. It’s a bit too touristy for us, too hot and humid and too expensive. We should not be paying the same prices we spend in Canada or the US, this is Mexico. We feel people are taking advantage of us when they charge 60 Pesos for a drink.
We go back to Starbucks one more time to see if they have any personalized Mugs at my sister Loes’ request. They don’t. So we indulge in another Mocha and tea with a lot less calories for me, but this time without the cheesecake.
We sit outside in the shade and watch the traffic and the people. I like Mexico and could spend 6 months here. It’s a good think we both feel the same. Ramiro feels right at home here with the langauage and the culture. That’s as close as he’ll ever be to Chile.
We drive around a bit and at Noon we go back to Puerto Las Hadas to see peter and Judy, who have invited us to stay at the private pool for the condos and lunch at the restaurant.
It feels so good to be in the water. There is a nice breeze which make it feel less hot.
At 4:00 pm we drive back to Cofradia and stop for groceries once ore in Colima.
We make it home just before dark and invite the PA volunteers for a drink after dinner. To our surprise Candido, the dentist from Brazil, who we met last March is also here. This is a nice farewell for us as we are leaving tomorrow.
