While the temperatures in the mountains in the north of Mexico dipped down to 15 below zero in Chihuahua and 25 below in Durango, we continue to enjoy weather on the opposite of the scale.
We’ve pack our bags for a four day trip to Manzanillo. It takes us a good 1.5 hour and the closer we get to the coast the warmer it gets. We should have brought shorts.
One in the hotel zone we start looking for something suitable. Patricio had found something for 6 people and consider joining us, but the place is not close enough to the beach and we are referred to something different.
We ask to see some of the units and find the perfect place for us. A room on the main floor of which the patio door open straight onto the pool and outside the pool area are the stairs to the beach.
There are simple cooking facilities which will do perfect for us. We have brought our large cool box full with light snacks and will eat only lunch out.
Ramiro’s cold is not getting any better. He complains about his legs being sore. While he naps Mom and I walk along the beach and I dip into the pool for a while. How refreshing. It’s hot out here.
Later we walk to one of the many restaurants along the beach for lunch.
After another swim we drive up forther north to where the large hotels are. Our friends Peter and Judy harcourt from Edmonton have a place there, which they have been renting for a number of years. After going through all sort of security we finally arrive on the 10th floor of the Puerto Las Hadas condos. What a wonderful place with a great view of the marina.
We stay for a few drinks, (Ramiro settles for orange juice) and drive back to Hotel Santa Cecilia in the dark.
