We attend a Rotary meeting in San Bernardo, and meet Bruno a Past District Governor and editor of a newsletter. His articles are somewhat controversial. They bring important messages. The words used are very down to earth. I have used part of some of his articles in my Rotary newsletters. Bruno joins us at our table and talks with Ramiro. I notice he has one blue eye and one brown eye, his hair is a reddish colour.
Not a man you easily forget. I have the pleasure of sitting with an Assistant Governor, and do my best to engage in a conversation, without Ramiro’s help.
As one of the members announces the anniversaries and birthdays, mine is included as well and they sing. In some mysterious way, I win the ticket draw. A cute ceramic Santa on a spring which makes him move.
After the meeting some of the Rotarians stay and we discuss Microcredit, The International Convention and the possibility of having a District to District Rotaract exchange. There are a few members how like to go to Montreal, and Antonio, who speak English very well, promises to promote it to the club. Myriam, is very interested in Microcredit. I promise to send he the Spanish version of the RAGM brochure.
We meet Nena at the mall and shop for birthday cake, pop and other party food. We’ll be celebrating.I receive numerous birthday greetings via the internet, even some via Skype. The table is set in the dining room in a very festive way. nena has done a great job of making everything look very festive. Teruca and Nena have made Cola de Mono. A coffee drink with milk and spice, but the most important ingredient is Aquas Calientes WITH 50% Alcohol. We start with Champagne and contuinue with cake after meat and cheese.
The kids all come home to celebrate with us and even Llillo and Doris make a drive to San Fernando to be with us.
We have a wonderful celebration. I still have my computer on when we go to bed and we receive a Skype call from our friends Julio and Pamela in Kamloops, What a great way to end this day.
