Not know how many more days of warm weather we will still be able to enjoy, it is time to start planning for winter, and consider where we will park the big rig.
The old RV has been sold, but the pad is too narrow and too short for the new RV.
So Ramiro moved all his old lawnmowers and equipment and his old WV beetle on the pad and start clearing a piece of land elsewhere for a new storage shed.

He rents a little bobcat and a truckload of crushed rock and spends an entire weekend, scraping and moving soil until a large 50’ x 20” area is leveled out and the rock can be dumped. More spreading is required and the ground is now solid enough to park the RV on.
He draws the plans for the building and buys a load of second hand frames.
Meanwhile we have applied for a building permit, which takes a while.
I guess we’ll have to wait until next sprng before we can actually start buildin
We always enjoy it when Liz and Robert come over. We were lucky once again to have beautiful weather and start the BBQ for a wonderful dinner.
After dinner we go for a walk to the homestead along the road.
One day this was someone's dream home. We'll never know the hardship these people have suffered and the happy hours they enjoyed living here.
The owners of the lot, make a lot of effort to make the little house special, by hanging a planter and place geraniums in them.
We always wanted to place a Geocache here and today was our chance.
September 24 we experienced a record temperature of 33 degrees and spend as much time as possible outside. A good thing we kept the BBQ ready/ We go for walks, bike rides and invite friends for an outdoor dinner.
We have been very fortunate to have been given another Rotary assignment and on the 25th we go to Albany, New York, to represent the Rotary International President at a District Conference. I have been busy preparing speeches and communicating with the Conference organizers and our aides, who want to ensure that we are looked after and enjoy our time in Albany.

It is indeed a huge honour to get such an assignment and we have a great time. And as always we meet new friends.
It's not all work however, we are treated to a day at the lake and go on a boat ride in a 1926 Chris Craft. Saturday afternoon we join a group of Rotarians on a ride in a Amphibious for a tour through the city and a ride on the River. What a great day this was.

In the evening we need to dress up and prepare for the Keynote address I have to deliver.
This is where my Toastmasters experience comes in real handy.

After one more speech Sunday morning, the conference comes to a close and we spend Sunday after noon with our aides before we fly back to Edmonton. We finally return early Monday morning arrival. We're pretty tired. but experienced another weekend we will not soon forget.
