To celebrate Thanksgiving we have the kids over for dinner on Saturday (well at least some of our kids).
We had really hoped to spend some time outside, but it has been so cold.
It’s so nice to have Marco visit us as well. It has been a while.

On Sunday we are invited to Gill's for Thanksgiving.
I always thought, that once we retired we could spend time going for walks, do some reading, go shopping, talk on the phone with friends, go for coffee and catch up on my reading. Well, whoever gave me that idea..... .....We seem to be busier than ever. There is always a Rotary project to complete, e-mails to answers, legals issues to deal with and something that needs fixing, and we seem to be coming up with new projects on a daily basis.

I have come up with the brilliant idea to switch the two rooms downstairs. Make the Gym the spare bedroom and and the other way around. That plan requires a coat of paint and some other efforts. Luckily Ramiro is on board without any hesitation, and after picking up some paint we join in a team effort. What a great way to spend the Thanksgiving weekend....... or is it?
Elizabeth’s boyfriend Robert helps us move the furniture. Now who can we invite to come and spend the night here? Anyone???

Just as I do every Wednesday morning. On October 14, I get up at six and leave the house to go to my Rotary meeting.
Was I in for a surprise. The car has two inches of snow on top of it and the white stuff is coming down steadily. Everything is covered in a blanket of snow.
For Pete’s sake it hasn’t even been Halloween yet. There is not suppose to be snow.
The roads were terrible this morning, cars in the ditch and people slipping and sliding.
Not that this is totally new to us, it already started snowing last Thursday and has been of and on, but come on, we did not even have a chance to slowly get used to the cool weather.
It was only 20 days ago that it was 33 degrees Celcius and we had the BBQ going and flowers all around us.
Now it feels more like January. Get me out of here!!!
But today is our 28th wedding anniversary, so instead of pouting over the weather, we’ll stay home, get some work done and enjoy a quiet evening on the couch with a good movie.

Our friends Al and Yvonne will be going south soon and we haven't seen them for quite some time. So we drive out to Vimy and spend the night with them.

It is too cold to do any work outside so Ramiro continues to paint and tackles the rest of the basement, while I work on the accounting and my many Rotary projects.
We make a few trips to various Rotary Clubs to promote the International Convention in Montreal for which I am the promoter in Canada.

In the evenings we set aside some time to plan for our trip to Chile. We finally booked our flight and now it is really going to happen. December 3rd is the big day.
Boy do we have plans. Not only will we spend time with the family and finalize some of the legal issues as a result of the death of Ramiro’s Mom, we plan to visit the north and south of Chile and spend time with family and Rotary friends.
But I am not going to give more information. You’ll just have to wait until I the blog gets updated with our adventures.

We have one more celebration, Marco is turning 40 on the 19th. Sunday night we go out for dinner to a Salvadorian restaurant in Edmonton with Liz and Marco, Robert is working out of town and is not able to join us.
We take a few days off to go to Regina, for some more presentations and the chartering of a new club.
On the way down we stop here and there for a Geocache.
As we enter approach the vermillion area we see enormous flocks of ducks, geese and other birds all getting ready for their departure south. We'll soon follow them.
But first is Halloween. that's when all the ghosts come out of the closet.
Happy Halloween everyone!
